Lahore : Provincial Minister for Higher Education Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab is playing prominent role in education and health sectors.
It is due to special effort of Shahbaz Sharif that under Chief Minister’s Faculty Foreign Programme, 61 research scholars are being sent abroad for higher education in five top international level universities, she added. She said that this step of Punjab government will open a new chapter of progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
She said that these research scholars are ready to go abroad their bright future. All our issues can be resolved through research and development in education sector, she added. She said that Higher Education Department is engaged in constitution of an educational force for the promotion of higher education in economic development, healthcare and all other sectors which will ensure resolution of problems faced by the country.
She expressed these views while awarding scholarship certificates and laptops to 61 scholars at a function held at Model Town, here today.
Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Nizam ud Din while expressing his views prayed for the golden future of those acquiring scholarships and expressed the hope that after higher education, these people will play their active role for bright future of Pakistan.
Giving briefing regarding development work of Higher Education Department, he said that under foreign Ph. D, education standard of universities and colleges is being harmonized with international demands. He hoped that Chief Minister will play his active role in meeting the shortage of highly educated faculty.
Chairman Punjab Higher Education Prof. Nizam ud Din, Vice Chancellors of various universities and other concerned people were present on the occasion.
All students and teachers obtaining scholarship certificates appreciated this step of Shehbaz Sharif and thanked him.
