DG Sports Punjab Zulfiqar Ghumman meets Zaheer Abbas

Lahore : Director General Sports Punjab Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman on Monday met with Head of Cricket Academies Sports Board Punjab Zaheer Abbas at National Hockey Stadium.

During their cordial meeting, both DG SBP Zulfiqar Ghumman and Zaheer Abbas, who is also Pakistan’s former captain and President of International Cricket Council (ICC), agreed to make combine efforts for the promotion of cricket and other sports in the province.

DG SBP Zulfiqar Ghumman said: “Punjab govt and Sports Board Punjab are already doing extensive endeavours for the better sports future of the country. In this regard, Sports Board Punjab’s highly impressive performance during the last four years is open to all. Sports Board Punjab organised dozens of national and international sports events quite successfully during this period,” he added.

“Pakistan athletes, under the banner of Sports Board Punjab, won several international titles in various countries during the last four years’ period. SBP has also extended all the necessary facilities to Pakistan athletes for their participation in international sports events”.

Zaheer Abbas, on this occasion, said the work has already started on cricket academies in the province. “These academies will play an important role in producing quality players for the country,” he expressed his hope.
