Modi government’s stance on Kashmir is based on falsehood : Liaqat Baloch

Liaqat BalochLahore : Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that Modi government’s stance on Kashmir was based on falsehood and hypocrisy and his nefarious designs against the Kashmiris would soon be frustrated with the liberation of Kashmir.

He was talking to the media after addressing a conference on the martyrdom of Imam Husain at Tando Muhammad Khan, on Tuesday.

JI Deputy chiefs Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, Asadullah Bhutto and JI Sindh chief Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui, also addressed the conference.

Liaqat Baloch stressed upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to present himself for accountability regarding the Panama leaks in the prevailing situation to resolve the political confrontation as  the country faced serious foreign threats besides internal tensions.

He said that had the Prime Minister set up an independent judicial commission on the Panama leaks, the political impasse in the country could have ended.

The JI Secretary General said that after destroying the PIA, Railways, and the Steels Mills, the rulers were planning to sell these institutions on throw away prices purely for selfish ends.

Paying homage to the Imam Husain, the JI Secretary General said that the martyrs of Karbala had become immortal while there was none to remember Yazeed.

Liaqat Baloch said that the delay in holding census despite Supreme Court directives was proved the failure of the government and its institutions. He further said that fair, free and transparent elections were a necessity in Karachi in view of the importance and the magnitude of the city.

Liaqat Baloch said there seemed to be no logic in honouring the Finance Minister who had burdened his county with loans from the IMF and the World Bank.

Prof. Ibrahim Khan paid rich tributes to Imam Husain and said that the great Imam had set a golden example for the posterity by challenging the tyrants of his times. He said that the tragedy of Karbala was being repeated in Kashmir, Palestine, Syria and Burma and the forces of truth and evil were pitted against each other. He said that the forces of truth would have to rise against the evil forces.

Dr Merajul Husain told the gathering that the valley of Sindh was the land of love and peace and there was no room for hatred and enmity. He said the JI was busy in bringing together the believers under one banner.
