PML-N workers should not react to any protest demonstration : Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed Muslim League-N workers that they should exercise restraint and not react to any protest demonstration. He said that steps like Dandabardar Force will not be tolerated.

He said that due to anti-progress steps of Imran Khan, his supporters are leaving him which can be judged from the results of recent bye-election in Chechawatni.

He said that Imran Khan’s desire for power through anarchy will never be fulfilled. He said that PML-N believes in politics of patience and restraint and considers it its responsibility to protect the right of difference of opinion.

In a statement, the Chief Minister said that no office-bearer or worker can be allowed to take law in his hand in any city or area and relevant law will come into action against anyone who will do so. Shehbaz Sharif said that at a time when people of Punjab are expressing confidence in the leadership and performance of PML-N and after Jhelum and Vehari, Tehreek-e-Insaaf has also been defeated in the constituency which was considered its bastion and the voters have rejected the politics of confrontation and hatred and supported PML-N candidate, PML-N workers should spread the message of love and tolerance in politics.

He said that people are fed up with Imran Khan due to his anti-progress politics and the results of recent bye-election in Chichawatni are a proof of this fact as PTI has lost the seat which it had won earlier. He said that projects of power generation for ridding the country of loadshedding are being completed and the process of changing the destiny of the nation through CPEC projects has started, therefore there is a need to exercise tolerance for continuing the process of progress and development.

He said that PML-N politics is based on public service whereas others are motivated by desire for power. He said that people fully understand the motives of PTI leaders.

ShahbazSharif directed party workers to keep party offices closed in the relevant area on the day of demonstration. He said that workers of Tehreek-e-Insaaf are like our children and their protection is also our responsibility. He said that offices of PML-N on the route of Raiwind march will be kept closed to avoid any possibility of clash.

The Chief Minister further said he wants to point out that people of Kashmir need full attention of Pakistani people at this hour and they are looking for moral support and assistance of Pakistani people. He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is visiting United Nations to promote awareness at international level against the atrocities against Kashmiri people.

He said that Prime Minister is also meeting world leaders and will also deliver a historic address. He said that every patriotic Pakistani should play his role at this critical moment for maintaining an environment of peace and brotherhood in the country.

Shahbaz Sharif expressed the hope that workers of PML-N will maintain their historic traditions at this critical hour. He said that CPEC projects were delayed due to politics of chaos and now process of progress of people is being affected due to irresponsible attitude of sit-in party. He said Imran Khan is indulging in the politics of anarchy for achieving power but he should understand that power is not the goal of the politician and his aim should be public service.

The Chief Minister expressed the hope that PTI leadership will also help in maintaining peace and law and order and will not create any situation which could result in action by law enforcement agencies. He said that all citizens are equal before law and action will be taken against violators without any discrimination.
