Lahore : DIG ops Dr Haider Ashraf has suspended incharge choki Begum Kot ,Shahdara Sub-Inspector Afzal and ASI Waqas for torturing a lady.The lady came at Police post for help against her former husband and protested for not being heard.
The Incharge Choki SI Afzal and ASI Waqas manhandled the woman and lodged a fake FIR against her.The video of police torture upon the lady become viral on social media that forced the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the incident.
On the direction of CM Punjab,DIG Ops Dr Haider Ashraf directed SP City Muhammad Naveed to hold an inquiry who declared SI Afzal and ASI Waqas guilty of misconduct and misuse of their official powers.
In lieu of the inquiry report, DR Haider Ashraf suspended the both officers and ordered for departmental action against them.
