The Chief Minister congratulated Yuriy Fedkiw on assuming his new responsibilities and expressed good wishes for him.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that government is determined to make Pakistan a welfare-oriented state in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that all citizens including minorities have equal rights in the country. He said that the whole nation is determined to rid the country of the menace of terrorism.
The Chief Minister said that setting up of a society based on restraint, tolerance and harmony is the mission of government. He said that armed forces and people of Pakistan have rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said that despite difficult circumstances, the brave Pak Army is successfully continuing the war against terrorists.
Shahbaz Sharif said that people of Pakistan have rendered supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said that terrorists are enemy of the entire humanity and the big powers should realize the problems of countries facing terrorism.
The Chief Minister said that friendship between Pakistan and America is multi-dimensional. He hoped that relations between Pakistan and America will strengthen in future.
Speaking on the occasion, American Consul General Yuriy Fedkiw said that America attaches high importance to its relations with Pakistan. He said that he had heard a lot about the work carried out by Shehbaz Sharif and now seen it personally. Quality and speed in the implementation of public welfare projects is the hallmark of the Chief Minister, he added.
