The wildlife teams arrest two people for netting myna and sparrows

myna_birdsLahore : The Wildlife Punjab teams for checking illegal hunting at Lahore and  Gujranwala have taken action against two persons for netting myna and sparrows across the River Ravi and catching parrots at Gujranwala and recovered the birds and received departmental composition of Rs. 50000 from the accused.

According to details, Deputy Director Wildlife Lahore received a secret information that some people are netting myna and sparrows upon which he constituted a team comprising Inspector Wildlife Mian Nazir Ahmed and Wildlife Watcher Saifullah, which conducted a raid across River Ravi and took into possession two nets, a snake and other items from the accused Amjad Ali alias Kalu s/o Barkat Ali and Muhammad Boota s/o Nazir Ahmed and challanned them while the other accused managed to escape. Authorities of Wildlife Department along with recovered birds will appear before the court today while summons have been issued to the accused. It may be mentioned that action has been taken earlier against the accused for hunting illegally.

A team was constituted under the supervision of Deputy Director Wildlife Gujranwala Zahid Iqbal Bhatti which conducted a raid at a border area of Najwal village near defense bund and took action against three accused including Manzoor Ahmed s/o Mahmood Ahmed, Zulfiqar Ahmed s/o Manzoor Ahmed, Abdul Ghaffor s/o Abdul Karim and received 50000 rupees as departmental compensation from them.

Director General Wildlife & Parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan has said the campaign will be continued against illegal hunters. He said that all officers should continue their activities against illegal hunters for the supremacy of law in their respective areas without any discrimination and contact him immediately in case of any difficulty.
