Siraj ul Haq greets Turk Ambassador for saving democracy

pic meeting sirajul haq & turk safeer in isdLahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has termed the victory of Turkish government and President Erdogan as the victory of the entire Turkish nation and said the Turkish people had set a historic example by foiling the coup against the democratic government.

He expressed these views during a meeting with the Turkish ambassador, at the Turkish embassy in Islamabad, on Friday. Deputy Secretary General, JI, Muhammad Asghar and Member, JI central Shoora, Asif Luqman Qazi, were also present.

The JI chief said that Turkey and Pakistan were two bodies with a single soul, and  they had centuries old religious and cultural relations.

Sirajul Haq said that Turkey occupied a distinct position in the Muslim world and the government of President Erdogan was the torch-bearer of great Turkish civilization and glory.

He said the Islamic movements on Turkey and Pakistan were linked through strong and stable ties, and that was why the Pakistani people had greeted the Jamaat e Islami, on the victory of President Erdogan.

The JI chief said that the eyes of the entire Muslim world were on Turkey. He said it  was a tragedy that the colonial powers were not allowing democracy to get roots in the Muslim states. He said that after toppling the elected government of Dr Morsi in Egypt, the unsuccessful coup against the Erdogan government showed a particular mindset and strong bias and narrow-mindedness. However, he said, that the world at large would have to reject such biases, intolerance and narrow-minded leadership.

The Turkish ambassador expressed his gratitude to the people of Pakistan and the JI chief for expressing their love and unanimity with the Turkish people.
