Siraj ul HaqLahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has congratulated Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on the failure of coup bid against him and said that Turkish people had foiled the mutiny by a small group of the Turkish army demonstrating their deep love for the elected leadership.

Addressing the annual congregation of the Islami Jamiat e Talibat, Punjab chapter here on Saturday, he said the message for the world from the development in Turkey was that nobody would harm a true democracy.

Sirajul Haq said that the ouster of an elected government in Egypt by the colonial powers had proved that the colonialism would not allow an elected leadership to emerge in any Islamic country. However, he said, the day was not far when Egyptian dictator Gen Sisi would meet his doom and elected President Dr Mursi would resume his office.

The JI chief deplored Pakistan government’s weak stance on Kashmir and said the rulers had disappointed the Kashmiris fighting for their basic right. It was a pity that while the Kashmiris were fighting the war of Pakistan’s completion, the cowardly rulers in Islamabad were working on US dictation and were crazy for friendship with India.

He said that Indian forces had killed forty five Kashmiri youth within five days while more than two thousand Kashmiris had been injured. The Kashmiri women and children had been subjected to worst form of torture. Hundreds of Kashmiri youth had lost their eyesight due to the pellets fired by the troops.

He said that despite the unparalleled brutalities by occupation troops, the Kashmiris stood firm on their demand for liberation and were giving the world the message that they would not give up their demand for freedom. On the issue of corruption, he said that those considering the Panama leaks a minor issue were gravely mistaken and added that the masses were not ready to tolerate corruption and the corrupt leadership any more. He said those stashing away billions of dollars to foreign countries were involved in a national crime and they would have to stand in the dock for accountability. The present and the past rulers would have to face audit and pay back every penny they had plundered, he added.

Sirajul Haq declared that the JI would fully protect the women’s rights and on coming to power, would ensure them quality education, basic health facilities, their right to inheritance, and also provide them interest free loans to start cottage industry.

The JI chief stressed that the members of the Election Commission must be men of integrity and impartial and added that those having political leanings would not be accepted as they could not ensure impartial and transparent election.
