DG Wild Life promises special security arrangement at Lahore Zoo on Eid

DG Wild life Khalid Ayaz KhanLahore : Director General Wildlife and Parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan has said that special arrangements are being made for the protection of visitors at Lahore Zoo during Eid holidays and their fool proof security will be ensured at any cost.

He was talking to media-men during his visit to Lahore Zoo to check security arrangements for visitors.  Director Lahore Zoo Shafqat Ali and Deputy Director Zahid Ali were also present on the occasion. Khalid Ayaz Khan said that six walkthrough gates including four at Shahrah-e- Quaid-e-Azam and two at Lawrence Road gate would be installed while six metal detectors would also be given to the security staff for manual checking. He said that special arrangement are also been made for the convenience of handicapped, old and sick persons and four wheel chairs would be available for this purpose at both the gates of the Zoo.

Answering a question, Khalid Ayaz said that in order to cope with the rush of visitors additional ticket booths would be set up so that long queues for tickets could be avoided. He further said that for the purpose of better management regarding security, apart from officials of Wildlife Department, an additional 120 officials are also being deputed at Lahore Zoo.

He said that important telephone numbers would been displayed at prominent places to facilitate the people in case of any emergency. He said that Red Crescent would set up its point whereas special arrangements would been made for cleanliness. He said that in order to ensure security measures, Special Branch staff would also be deputed and a letter has been dispatched to DIG in this regard.
