Standing Committee on SAFRON cries over its helplessness

Muhammad_Jamal_Uddin-220Lahore : A meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions  met today in Parliament House, Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Muhammad Jamal ud Din, MNA.

The Committee showed its great displeasure over not implementing by the FATA Secretariat the recommendations of the Standing Committee regarding appointment of junior officers on higher post in the FATA Secretariat made in its previous meeting held on 1st April, 2016.

Thereafter the Committee strongly recommended to remove the juniors officers appointed on senior posts in the FATA Secretariat and appoint senior officer according to service rules and regulations.

The Committee was informed that two hundred (200) kilometers road for South Waziristan as recommended by the Committee was did not include in the PSDP for financial year 2016-17 by the Planning and Development Division, however the said road has been included in the FATA ADP for financial year 2016-17.

The Committee further recommended to the concerned quarters to make functional and convert on solar the water supply schemes of FATA in particular of South Waziristan where the TDPs will be returned very soon on priority basis. The Committee also strongly recommended that additional funds should be allocated to the FATA agencies where no development work has been carried out for the last 6-7 years due to law and order situation.

The meeting was also attended by Muhammad Nazir Khan, Ghalib Khan. Begum Tahira Bukhari, Ms. Iffat Liaqat, Aftab Shahban Mirani, Muhammad Kamal, Bilal Rehman, and Sheikh Fayyaz-ud-Din MNAs and Officers/Officials of the Ministry.
