The Standing Committee on Human Rights holds its 6th meeting

MNA Babar Nawaz KhanLahore : The 6th meeting of the Standing Committee on Human Rights was held today under the Chairmanship of Babar Nawaz Khan, MNA.

  1. The meeting started with the recitation from Holy Quran Then, the Committee decided to proceed with the given agenda.
  2. Agenda Item No. i; “Confirmation of minutes of last meeting held on 27-05-2016”. The Committee unanimously confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 27-05-2016.
  3. Agenda item No. ii; “To have a briefing from European Union and Improving Parliamentary Performance in Pakistan (IP3) IP3”. The representative of Improving Parliamentary Performance in Pakistan (IP3) briefed the Committee about the situation of basic human rights in the other countries of the world and appraised that as to how we should work for inculcating awareness in the Pakistani nation about their human right. The Committee appreciated the given briefing. Further; the Committee did not take any other issue.
  4. The Hon. Members/MNAs Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqub, Begum Tahira Bukhari, Ms. Farhana Qamar, Ms. Phyllis Azeem, Ms. Surriya Asghar, Ms. Kiran Haider, Ms. Asiya Naz Tanoli, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Ms. Amra Khan, Dr. Shazia Sobia, Ms. Musarat Rafique Mahesar, Ms. Munaza Hassan and Ms. Kishwer Zehra besides the team of IP3 under the leadership of Miss Donna Bugby Smith as a special invitee attended the meeting. Moreover; Hon. Minister and Secretary for Human Rights with their staff also attended the meeting.
