Shahbaz Sharif distributes school bags and books at World Day against Child Labour

Shahbaz SharifLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif distributed school bags and books among boy and girls who were working at brick kilns and now are studying in schools during a ceremony held in connection with World Day against Child Labour at Model Town. There were present such twins who were named after Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif by their parents.

The parents were of the view that they have named their children in love to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

A girl Hifsa working at brick kiln said that two years ago, she was going to school but due to domestic problems she stopped studying and started work at brick kiln along with her parents. Now she has again started going school after announcement of educational package by Chief Minister for the children of brick kiln labourers, she added. She said that now she goes to school and prays for Chief Minister.

She said there are more than 300 girls and boys in our school who are talented like the children of the rich. She said we will prove that if opportunities are provided then children of labourers can also make their name in different fields. On this occasion, Hifsa also sing a song.

The Chief Minister appreciated the talent and self-confidence of the girl. Country Director ILO Mis. Ingrid Christensen appreciated the steps of Punjab government taken for elimination of child labour under the leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and said that not only excellent steps have been taken for elimination of child labour at brick kilns but effective legislation has also been made in this regard. She said that credit goes to Shahbaz Sharif for the steps taken for eliminating child labour in Punjab.

Labour leader Khursheed Ahmed led the prayer for recovery of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and progress and prosperity of the country.
