A 17 years old girl burnt alive in Lahore

Lahore: A 17 years old girl burnt alive in Lahore for not accepting the will of her family and making the decision alone of her life. Factory Area police have registered a case against the victim’s mother and a brother who recently came back from Dubai. The mother has been arrested whereas raids are being conducted for the arrest of her brother.

Zeenat Bibi who did a love marriage with Hassan Khan a few days back, was brought back to home by her family for cordial marriage ceremony.The accused allegedly spray the fuel on her and light it up  which led her to a miserable death.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident of setting a 17-year old girl allegedly on fire in factory area Lahore and sought a report from CCPO Lahore.

The Chief Minister directed that investigation should be conducted by keeping in view all aspects of the incident and strict legal action be taken against the culprits and demands of justice should be fulfilled.

The Chief Minister said that setting a girl on fire is the worst example of cruelty and inhumanity.

Meanwhile; On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, a 3-member inquiry committee has been constituted to probe the incident of setting a 17-year-old girl on fire in Factory Area Lahore.

The committee will review every aspect of the incident and submit its report within 48 hours. Deputy Commandant Punjab Constabulary Abu Bakar will be the convener of the committee while Additional Secretary Judicial Home Department and an officer of Punjab Forensic Science Agency will be its members.
