Prayers pour in for PM Nawaz from across world ahead of surgery

Lahore: With the news that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will undergo a heart surgery in London on Tuesday, thousands of prayers poured in from the world leaders, party workers, religious personalities and political adversaries.

Within no time, the social media pages including Facebook and Twitter got loaded with thousands of special prayers for the Prime Minister. “My best wishes to PM Nawaz Sharif Sahab for his open heart
surgery on Tuesday. And for his speedy recovery & good health,”Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his tweet.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani also extended his good wishes for the Prime Minister and prayed for his early and full recuperation.

President Mamnoon Hussain telephoned the Prime Minister and inquire after him, besides praying for his recovery. According to a President House statement, the Prime Minister thanked the President for inquiring about the state of his health and apprised him about his ongoing treatment.

The President told the Prime Minister that the whole nation was praying for his complete recovery. In return, the Prime Minister also prayed for national security and prosperity.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto also conveyed their well wishes for the Prime Minister, setting aside their political differences. Special prayer gatherings were held not only across the country but also abroad by the party workers as well as the
Pakistani community.

Prayers were offered in several mosques in Washington and the neighbouring states of Virginia and Maryland which are home to a large number of Pakistani families. The worshipers prayed for
the successful operation and early recovery of the Prime Minister and for the prosperity of Pakistan.

During their Friday sermons, religious scholars requested their followers and worshippers to pray for the complete recovery of Prime Minister. Special prayers were offered in the churches in different
cities including Lahore on Sunday.

All the artists in the country are praying for the early recovery of the Prime Minister. Prominent singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Fakhir Mehmood expressed their good wishes for the Prime Minister in their
video messages. What to talk of elders, even the children were not behind anyone to speak their hearts for good health of the Prime Minister through their velfies posted with hashtags of `Get well soon PM
Nawaz Sharif.’

Raising his hands, a child of around seven to eight years age,prayed in a video message,” Oh Allah, please grant early recovery to Nawaz Sharif so that he may carry on good works for the country.”

Ishaq Hussain Hashmi, an octogenarian citizen in his video message conveyed his well wishes as well as on behalf of his family members. “Oh Allah please grant full health to Prime Minister as you
always bestowed him with respect and health – for Pakistan as well as Islamic world. Nawaz Sharif! We love you,” commented MNA Talal Chaudhry in his video message.

Provincial Health Minister of Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf leader Shahram Tarakai said, “Prayers for PM Nawaz Sharif. May he get well soon. Our thoughts are with him and his
family.”

Prime Minister’s daughter Maryam Nawaz actively responded the good wishes expressed by the people from all walks of life. “I am truly overwhelmed and humbled by the innumerous messages
of prayers and good wishes. Jis ke peeche itni duaein hon, usko aur kia chahiye (One who is backed by so many prayers, what else he would desire)?” she commented on her Twitter.

A special prayer event was arranged by the party leadership in Lahore wherein Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq addressed and offered special prayers for complete health of the Prime Minister.

Parliamentary Secretary for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Mohsin Ranjha, in his statement, said, “The entire nation including elderly, youth, children, and women of all age
groups are praying for his early recovery and return to Pakistan.”

Pakistanis currently staying in Saudi Arabia also offered special prayers for early recovery of the Prime Minister in Haram Sharif or Masjid-e-Nabwi.”Oh Allah, please grant complete recovery to my leader,” Malik Muhammad Younus prayed as he also posted his words on Twitter while showing Masjid-e-Nabwi in the backdrop.

Chairperson NCJP, His Excellency Msgr. Dr. Joseph Arshad, Bishop of Faisalabad and National Director, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Yousaf (Mani) in a joint statement said that NCJP and the Christian community pray for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery of the Prime Minister.

They also prayed for peace and prosperity in the country.
