Aitzaz should tell the nation about the corruption of billions : Abid Sher Ali

Abid Sher AliLahore: Minister of State for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali Wednesday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government fully believed in supremacy of the parliament.

Addressing a joint news conference accompanied by MNAs Talal Chaudhry, Daniyal Aziz and Minister of State for Privatization
Muhammad Zubair outside the Parliament House, he said PML-N always respected the state institutions.

In a rejoinder to opposition parties’ questions, he said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif himself offered accountability of his
family.He said that former dictator Pervez Musharraf held rigorous accountability of Nawaz Sharif for 10 years but could not prove any allegation of corruption.

Abid said during the current tenure of Nawaz Sharif’s government,national development and prosperity was the main focus, adding, foreign investors also attracted who started huge investment in diversified fields.
The minister said Senator Aitzaz Ahsan had fetched Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) tender for his wife illegally during the Musharraf regime. He said Aitzaz should tell the nation about the corruption of billions of rupees he committed in the past.

Abid said the present government believed in rule of law. “We will appear and give answer at every legal forum.”
Replying to a question of opposition parties, MNA Talal Chaudhry said there was no contradiction in the interviews of Hassan Nawaz in 1999 and Hussain Nawaz in 2016 adding that the apartments of Sharif family in London were purchased in 2006, and before it these apartments were on rent. The flats were also purchased in a legal way, he added.He said Hussain Nawaz had apprised the nation in his interview that he had purchased the flats after selling a mill they established in Saudi Arabia.

Talal said the Prime Minister had no link with Al-Taufeeq case and there was no offshore company in the name of Nawaz Sharif which he already told the nation in his address.He said the income and property details of Prime Minister was already present in the returns, which were in line with the constitution
and laws.

The MNA said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had paid all due taxes according to rule and law, and detail of these paid taxes were available with the departments concerned.

MNA Daniyal Aziz said PTI Chairman Imran Khan was the master of taking ‘U-turn’ from stated stances.
He said Imran Khan, in his speech in Bannu, took another U-turn from his previous demand of setting up a judicial commission and now he was asking for an inquiry from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He said names of Imran Khan’s two sisters were also in the Panama papers alongwith a number of other members of PTI.

Daniyal said it was the demand of opposition parties to form a judicial commission to look into the allegations.He regretted that opposition parties wanted to create hurdles in the
pace of development work being carried out across the country by PML-N government for welfare of masses.
