Health Department seek reports from hospitals regarding Audit Paras

Lahore: A spokesman of Punjab Health Department has said that the department has sought reports from those hospitals/institutions by 13^th May, on which Auditor General of Pakistan has prepared audit paras.

The spokesman further said that terming audit objections as corruption is not correct. He further said that annual audit of all government departments including Health Department is a routine matter and during audit process, paras raised are presented before Public Accounts Committee for detail discussions and settlement.

The spokesman further said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has already constituted a committee headed by Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah to review the issues relating to collection of user charges from the patients by the autonomous medical institutions.

The spokesman said that if irregularities pointed out in audit report proved true, strict legal action would be taken against the responsibles.
