Rana Mashhood awards certificates among teachers at Guide House

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that APS incident has changed the mindset of the entire nation and consolidated efforts are being made for the security of educational institutions. He said that the role of teachers is of paramount importance for the protection of schools and education of children. He was addressing a function in connection with International Red Crescent Day arranged by Red Crescent Punjab at Guide House, here today. Secretary General Red Crescent Rizwan Naseer, Mehboob Qadir, Miss Fauzia Saeed, Mrs Tazeen Fazal as well as teachers of different schools who took part in the 2-day school safety training program were present on the occasion.

Certificates were awarded to male and female teachers who attended the training course. Speaking on the occasion, Rana Mashhood Ahmed said that teachers are not only role models but also provide education and guidance to students.

He said that incidents of terrorism are reducing and the measures taken under Zarb-e-Azb operation of Pak Army has broken the back of terrorists. He said that the world is again turning towards Pakistan and investment by China and other countries in infrastructure and other sectors is a proof of this fact.

The Minister further said that Pakistan is fortunate in the sense that it has a large number of volunteers of different international institutions like Girl Guide, Red Crescent and Red Cross which are engaged in selfless service to the people. He said that Red Crescent has made a commendable contribution to the society by imparting training in school safety to the teachers of Lahore.
