Federal government is pushing the tribal people towards terrorism : Sirajul Haq

Siraj ul HaqLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the federal government was pushing the tribal people towards terrorism by depriving them of education and other basic facilities. He was addressing the members of the All FATA Teachers Association staging a sit-in in front of the Islamabad Press Club on the 17th day on Friday to press for their demands including up-gradation.

Sirajul Haq said that the Khyber P. government had upgraded hundreds of thousands of teachers whereas the Federal government had not up-graded the teachers in FATA who were only in thousands during the last five years despite repeated promises. He said that about 1.2 million FATA students were affected because of  teachers’ protest but the federal authorities were not moved. He said that lakhs of IDPs were living in camps away from their homes and the government seemed to have no time frame for their return.

The JI chief said that the people’s representatives from FATA had given some proposals regarding the CPEC but the federal government had not given any response so far.

Sirajul Haq said the FATA people wanted an administrative system that was in line with their traditions and the Shariah. He said the government had promised administrative reforms in FATA including abolition of the FCR but None of these promises had been fulfilled.
