Corruption could be uprooted from society by making every person accountable: DG NAb

With focus on role of women and young girls in saying “No-to-Corruption,” she advised young students to be complacent and do not demand of expensive things from their parents.

Delivering a lecture here at Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-6/2, she said Pakistan was like a mother to each Pakistani and it was collective duty to save it from corruption.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had said “Corruption is like a poison and we should put it down with an iron hand.”

Aaliya Rasheed told the students about types of corruption and said corruption was Bribery, Misuse of Authority, Nepotism, Embezzlement, Cheating and Extortion.

She also mentioned steps taken by National Accountability Bureau to curb corruption. For this, the slogan “Say-No-to Corruption” has been printed on ID card, Driving Licenses, Utility Bills and on the poster stamps as well, thus spreading the message to everyone.

A story book has also been published where the character Gugi is also saying “No-to-Corruption”.

Ms. Aaliya Rasheed said Pakistan has become a trend setter in saying and spreading this message.

The lecture was also attended by DG Ms. Shahnaz Riaz and DG Ms. Talat Anjum. On the occasion, Principal Prof. Tasneem Sher Muhammad suggested the students that slogan “No-to-Corruption” should also be printed on textbooks.
