Hajj made easy thru Hajj Information Management System : Dr. Umar Saif

Dr Umar SaifLahore: Chairman Punjab IT Board (PITB) Dr. Umar Saif has congratulated the applicants selected under Government Hajj Scheme 2016 through transparent computerized balloting conducted successfully by PITB devised Hajj Information Management System. “PITB team is laudable to complete a gigantic but sacred religious task of receiving more than 0.28 m applications; their scrutiny and now transparent balloting in a very short time.”

Dr. Saif stated it during a meeting held at Arfa Software Technology Park on Friday. He said how it was exciting for a citizen to receive a message “Congratulations! You have been selected for Hajj. “But it happened on Wednesday as each lucky selectee was informed through sms alert at the place where he was at the moment; no long queues, no wait and no visit to the concerned offices. The successful applicants can also check their names by visiting their respective banks or official website of federal Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA)” He added.

Dr. Saif said that the similar process of online registration for private Hajj would be started within a month. “The Government of Pakistan has allocated 50 per cent quota under Private Hajj Scheme to benefit similar number of pilgrims. The online registration system will be same as for the Government scheme through Hajj Group Organizers (HGOs) across Pakistan. As per routine, the PITB will also set up helplines for the pilgrims both in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They may use these helplines to get any information about training, flight schedules, lost luggage and residence details.” He added.
