NAB to decide the 150 mega corruption scandals at the earliest: Siraj ul Haq

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that Pakistan could not be delinked from its ideology and those who wanted to demolish ideological character were the  worst enemies of this country.

Addressing the central office bearers of the party at Mansoora on Thursday, he said, “Pakistan is like mother to us and if someone tries to harm her, we would break his neck.” Fighting for the security of the country is a sacred Jehad, he added.Siraj ul Haq

Sirajul Haq urged the masses to join JI’s “Corruption Free Pakistan” drive in order to cleanse the country of the menace of corruption.  He also appealed to the Supreme Court to examine the record of the Parliamentarians’ assets submitted by them to the Election Commission and compare these with their actual properties and also release the same for the information of the general public.

The JI chief demanded of the NAB to open the 150 mega corruption scandals and decide these at the earliest. He said it was surprising that the personal businesses and assets of the rulers were expanding at a great speed and the number of their factories was on the rise every year whereas the national institutions under the rulers were incurring huge losses. The nation must be informed as to who was responsible for the failures of these institutions, he said and added that those who had been in power during the last 70 years were to be blamed for this fact.

He said that that the rulers themselves pushed these institutions to losses and then sold these off to their favourites on throw away prices. He said it was the responsibility of the nation to protect the national assets and if the nation failed in this, the coming generations would not forgive this. As for the rulers, he said, they were more interested in grabbing these instead of making these a success.

The JI chief said that the NAB strategy of Plea bargain had been devised to give a clean chit to the big plunderers. He said that behind every policy, there was the hand of the ruling clique.

Sirajul Haq said that the ruling junta was not ready to hand over any of their relatives involved in corruption, to the NAB. He said that after NAB’s initiative in the Punjab, the Prime Minister’s order to the NAB not to scare innocent people clearly implied that no institution could function independently under the present Premier. He said that the courts in the country too had double standards due to which exploitation and tyranny was on the rise. He said that the judiciary had great role in ensuring the rule of law and if the courts were silent, tyranny and exploitation would increase.

Sirajul Haq  appealed to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to take suo mote notice of the abrogation of the constitution. He said the rulers were blaming the judiciary for the fleeing of the dictator who suspended the constitution twice and said it was imperative to determine as to who was responsible for allowing Musharraf to flee the country.
