Ayesha Bilal and Tatheer Fatima win Naat & Qirat Competition

Lahore: Chief Minister’s Provincial Level Naat and Qirat Competition was held at Government College of Home Economics, Gulberg, Lahore. Begum Zakia Shahnawaz, Minister for Population Welfare graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Principal Prof. Dr. Samia Kalsoom welcomed her.

The students belonging to various districts of Punjab contested in these competitions. The participants presented their Naats. The students from the nine Divisions including Lahore, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan and Gujranwala participated in these competitions. The purpose of these competitions is to inculcate among the students a spirit to fight and compete at a larger level and rise above their limitations in the field of education.

On this occasion Minister for Population Welfare Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that this is really a very encouraging step by Chief Minister Punjab that he has provided a forum to the students to display their hidden talents. She highly appreciated the students and apprised them to work incessantly for the development of Pakistan. She emphasized up on the students to not to forget their history and culture and should always respect their elders.

Principal, Prof. Dr. Samia Kalsoom also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the students for participating in these competitions. Ch. Jahangir, Additional DPI (C), Punjab, Lahore. Anwar Bashir, Assistant Director (C), Lahore Division, Lahore, Shagufta Amin, Director Women, Section Officer, Higher Education Department, Rana Fayyaz, Director(C), Sargodha, Principal, Govt. Postgraduate College for Women, Cooper Road, Lahore were also presented on this occasion.

In Qiraat competition first prize was bagged by Ayesha Bilal (Faisalabad), 2^nd Prize was clinched by Memoona Ashraf (Bahawalpur), 3^rd Prize was received by Khadija Mushtaq (Sargodha). In Naat competition 1^st Prize was bagged by Tatheer Fatima (Lahore), 2^nd Prize was clinched by Mahnoor Nawaz (Gujranwala), 3^rd Prize was received by Areeba Jabeen (Faisalabad). The Naat judges were Qari Mehboob Ahmad, Akhtar Qureshi, Jamshad Azam and Qirat Judges were, Ahmad Mian Thanvi, Najam us Sabih and Muhammad Idress Azam. . In the end, certificates were awarded to all the participants.
