Rana Mashhood chairs annual meeting of Board of Directors of Punjab Tourism Department

Rana Mashhood AhmadLahore: Provincial Minister for Tourism, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan presided over annual meeting of Board of Directors of Punjab Tourism Department today. The meeting accorded approval to purchasing three new tourist buses for Lahore city.

Vice Chairman Punjab Tourism Imran Ali Goraya, MD Punjab Tourism Ahmer Malik and other members of the Board were present on the occasion. The meeting was told that preparations of 30 km long jeep relay along bank of River Ravi under TDCP have been completed.

The meeting was informed that the project of tourist facilities at Soon Sakesar Valley are near completion. Two new resorts are being constructed at Kanetki and Khabbeki in the valley. A new rest house is being constructed in Nankana Sahib and 80 percent work of the project has been completed. Moreover, tourist resort at the bank of River Indus in Kot Mithan has also been completed.

The meeting was informed that resorts have been up-graded at Lal Sohanra and Kallar Kahar. The meeting was told that various projects including construction of new resorts in Cholistan are in pipeline.

The meeting also gave approval to the appointment of three new tourism officers and three assistant tourism officers for the department. Besides, the board gave approval to increase utility allowance for the employees as well as recruitment of a doctor for fulfilling the medical needs for the employees.

The Minister said that Punjab tourism department is making rapid progress and added that more incentives will be announced for the employees on strengthening of financial position of the department.
