Dr. Anwar Sadeed passes awayLahore: Renowned writer, critic and researcher Dr. Anwar Sadeed has passed away. Inna Lilahe wa Inna Elehe Rajeune.

Dr. Anwar Sadeed was one of the great writers who contributed immensely for Urdu language. His contributions for Urdu could never be ignored. He was at ease in every field of writing. Although he had not produced a novel so far, his contributions in the fields of poetry, short story, translations and journalism were extremely impressive.

His publications include More than 80 books, including Urdu Adab Ki Tehreekein; Dilli Door Nahin; Mohtaram Chehray; Iqbal Kay Classikee Naqoosh; and Urdu Haj Namay Ki Rivayat.

He had written numerous newspaper articles and edited the monthly Urdu Zaban, Sargodha (1948-66), Auraq(1988-92), Qaumi Digest (1990-95). Deputy editor of daily Khabrain, Lahore in 1995. He also remained a part of editorial staff of daily Nawa-i-Waqt till his last breath.

Although his age has decreased his ability to work but he continued to write and stay within the literature field.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of Dr. Anwar Sadeed. Eulogizing literary services of Dr. Anwar Sadeed, the Chief Minister said that due to his death, country has been deprived of a great writer and critic of Urdu literature. He said that the services of the deceased for the promotion of Urdu will be remembered forever.

In his condolence message, Shahbaz Sharif expressed condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
