Bandits on Rampage in Mandi BahauddinMandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : In a robbery incident one person was killed while his wife seriously wounded. According to details some un-indentified bandits armed with firearms broke in house of Secretary Union Council Chhimmon Abdul Khaliq at about 7:30 pm last night and on gunpoint started looting the house.

Abdul Khaliq and his wife resisted the bandits who fired on the couple and fled away from the scene. As a result of firing Abdul Khaliq died on the spot while his wife received serious injuries. She was evacuated to DHQ Hospital for medical treatment. After post mortem, funeral prayers were offered at Kuthiala Sheikhan. Thereafter the dead body was sent to his native village in Chakwal district for burial.

Meanwhile in Phalia six bandits entered house of President Traders Association Abdul Hakeem in noon the other day and after making inmates hostage, started searching the house. In the meantime one of the family members stealthily slipped into a room and bolted from inside.

He informed his acquaintances on mobile who with other residents rushed to rescue them. Seeing locals approaching the house, the dacoits fled away on motorcycles. Incidence was reported to Model Police Station Phalia but the police did not come into action to trap the fleeing dacoits, the inhabitants said.

In another incident, Abrar resident of Wara Alam Shah was going on motorcycle on Malakwal Road and when he reached near Badshahpur railway crossing at about 3:30 pm, two bandits armed with pistols stopped him and snatched Rs 15000 from him and fled away. He said he reported the incident to police but so far the robbers had not been traced.
