A delegation of journalists from Azad Jammu and Kashmir visits Lahore 1 A delegation of journalists from Azad Jammu and Kashmir visits LahoreLahore: A 16-member delegation of journalists from Azad Jammu and Kashmir called on Governor Punjab Rafiq Rajwana and Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal at Civil Secretariat here on Monday.

Talking to the delegation, the Chief Secretary said that role of media is of significant importance in developing public opinion. He remarked that governance can be improved by seeking guidance from media. He said that exchange of journalists’ delegations would help highlight initiatives and positive steps taken by the government for welfare of people.

Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khawaja informed the delegates about the measures being taken by the Punjab government in different sectors including health, education, infrastructure and Information Technology.

Sardar Zulfiqar Ali, the head of the delegation, presented a shield to the Chief Secretary. Lauding the pace of progress in the province, the delegates said that the steps being taken by the Punjab government are unprecedented.

Secretary Information and Culture Momin Agha, Director General Public Relations Raja Jahangir Anwer and other officers were also present on the occasion. The delegation of AJK journalists is on three-day visit to Lahore on invitation of the Punjab government.
