A successful surgery of malignant liver tumor  carried out at Lahore General HospitalLahore: A successful surgery of malignant liver tumor of a lady patient has been carried out at Lahore General Hospital for the first time. 28 years Azra, a mother of four kids, was operated by Dr. Sikandar Hayat Gondal, Dr. Naeem Ahmed and their team who have been felicitated by Prof. Khalid Mahmood, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital, for their brilliant performance. The attendants of the patient also expressed their gratitude for hospital administration and Chief Minister Punjab for free of cost operation and also for provision of modern equipments and funds to General Hospital.

It merits mentioning that the operation was conducted at an operation theater in newly constructed Phase Three which has been equipped with modern machinery and all possible requirements. The patient, Azra Bibi, a resident of Bhatta Chowk, was suffering from liver cancer since long. She was referred to LGH some days ago where doctors decided to operate her tumor. The complicated operation continued for several hours.

Prof. Khalid Mahmood, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital has expressed the hope that such operations would bring good name for hospital in future as patients would have treatment of all kinds under one roof after the completion of Phase Three. He resolved to further upgrade the available medical facilities at LGH by virtue of more funds provided by the Chief Minister Punjab.
