Siraj ul Haq demands ruthless accountability of the corrupt rulers

Siraj ul HaqLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has stressed the need for ruthless accountability of the corrupt sitting in the corridors of power.

Addressing a function at Dera Murad Jamali on Saturday, he said that those who had plundered  375 billion dollars of the public money and transferred these to foreign banks were the enemy of the nation’s pleasures and progress. The function was held to mark the inclusion of several local notables in the JI along with their supporters. These included Yar Muhammad Sosali , Muhammad Azeem Gorshani and Muhammad Yaquub Qalandari and others.

Sirajul Haq said that the NAP against terrorism was begun a year ago but now there was talk of extending it for another ten years. He said that the only way to wipe terrorism was to finish its breeding grounds. He said that the innocent school children were being harassed by raising the boundary walls of schools and fixing of barbed wires and placing a Kalashnikov in the teacher’s hands.

The JI chief said that almost one hundred small dams could be built in Balochistan but the government was not giving any attention to that. He said the Balochistan issue could be resolved through dialogue and the government should take the lead.

He said that an energy project of 990 MW was working only a few kilometers from Dera Murad Jamali but the local people remained without light.

He said that Bhutto family and the Sharifs had been ruling the country for four decades but the plight of the general public remained unchanged. He said the solution did not lay in having  Sindhi Prime Minister for Sindh, a Baloch Prime Minister for Balochistan, or a Punjabi Premier for the Punjab. He said that the country was still being ruled by the young generations of those who had served the British rulers and they were seen in every government, whether elected or military.

He said he was not against any individual or family, but he wanted end of the present system based on  exploitation and injustice. He said that if the masses wanted an end to the unjust system, they should join the JI campaign against corruption.
