Drug Testing Laboratory Lahore to get ISO certification

Drug Testing LaboratoryLahore: Punjab Drug Testing Laboratory and Research Centre (PDTRC) set up at Sundar Industrial Estate is an excellent example of mutual collaboration of public and private sector . Steps are being taken for ISO certification of Drug Testing Laboratory (DTL) Lahore which is upgraded and renovated recently. For this purpose, services of experts of Punjab Drug Testing Laboratory & Research Centre Sundar will be benefited.

Kh Salman expressed these views during his visit to Drug Testing Laboratory and Research Centre established in Sundar Industrial Estate, with the cooperation of public and private sector. Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Punjab Ali Jan Khan, Director General Health Dr. Mukhtar Hussain Syed, Chief Operating Officer Drug Testing Laboratory & Research Centre Ayaz Ali Khan, Deputy Secretary Drug Control Shehbaz Ahmed, Chief Drug Controller Dr. Zaka ur Rehman and other officers were also present on the occasion. Chief Operating Officer Ayaz Ali Khan gave a briefing to Advisor Health regarding the laboratory system and its performance.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan directed Chief Operating Officer to present his recommendations for getting ISO Certification for Drug Testing Laboratory so that strategy evolved in the light of recommendations and expertise could be sent for approval to Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Kh. Salman Rafiq said that establishment of international standard Drug Testing Laboratories is need of the hour for ensuring high standard medicines to the people of the province and eliminating business of substandard and spurious drugs.  He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister, Punjab government has already started work on this project. He said that after up-gradation and renovation of DTL Lahore, modern gadgets and international standard facilities have been made available in the lab inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, a few days ago.
