Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale calls on Punjab Chief Minister

Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz SharifLahore: Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif here today. Matters of mutual interest and promotion of bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting.

Talking to the Indian High Commissioner, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan and India should live like good neighbors. He said that war is not the solution to any problem. He said that poverty, hunger and unemployment is the common enemy of the peoples of the two countries and this common enemy could be defeated through peace. He said that good relations between India and Pakistan are necessary for progress and prosperity of the two countries. He said that India and Pakistan should resolve their issues through purposeful dialogue.

Shahbaz Sharif also stressed the need for maximum exchange of delegations between the two countries and strengthening of contacts at public level for reducing the distances. He said that the two countries should divert their resources towards welfare and prosperity of their peoples.

The Chief Minister further said that India and Pakistan should further peace process in a constructive and positive manner.

Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale said that the leaderships of the two countries are taking steps for strengthening bilateral relations. He said that metro train was also criticized in Delhi but this project is providing lot of facilities to the people.

He said that after the success of Delhi Metro Train, such projects have also been started in other cities of India. The Indian High Commissioner also appreciated Motorway and other public welfare projects.
