Five marla plots has been given to 280 shelter-less people in Mandi BahauddinLahore: Under Chief Minister Jinnah Abadi Scheme, possession of five marla plots has been given to 280 shelter-less people in chak No. 11 of Mandi Bahauddin.

Member National Assembly Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar and Member Provincial Assembly Pir Syed Mehfooz Hussain Mashhadi distributed possession deeds among poor cultivators and labourers.

Additional District Collector Afzaal Ahmed Warraich, Assistant Commissioner Shabbir Hussain Cheema and Naib Tehsildar Arif Najam were also present on the occasion.

A model Abadi will be set up under this scheme. Government land has also been allocated for mosque, school and park whereas streets will be 49 feet wide.

Addressing the ceremony, Mumtaz Tarar said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif are making strenuous efforts for the progress and prosperity of the country and they want to provide shelter to shelter-less people.

Pir Mehfooz Mashhadi congratulated the allottees and said that first time in the history of the country, practical steps have been taken for the welfare of the shelter-less people. He advised those getting plots to construct their houses and do not to sell the plots.  He said that combined possession of plots to husband and wife will help empower women. Arif Najam told that during the next phase, more Jinnah Abadies will be set up.
