Media houses should strictly implement government guidelines:Rana Sana

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that government will utilize all out resources for ensuring security of media houses. He said that the entire nation is united and determined in the war against terrorism. Our media is playing a key role in this regard, he added. He said that media houses should strictly implement government guidelines in view of best protection and immediately inform concerned authorities in case of any laxity or flaw. He expressed the hope that media will also encourage the government on good security measures.meeting rgarding security of media houses

He expressed these views while presiding over a high level meeting regarding security of media houses at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today. Owners of media houses, anchors, representatives, besides Spokesman Punjab government Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Members Provincial Assembly Rana Arshad, Jehangir Khanzada, Secretary Information, Secretary Home, IG Punjab and DIG Operations were also present on the occasion.

Rana Sanaullah said that we are facing such an enemy in the war against terrorism, which neither hides nor comes to fore openly. He said that there is no organized existence of Daesh in Pakistan however, some violence minded persons have gone out of the country by impressing from social media and literature. He said that such mindset is present in the whole world. He said that 750 persons from England and more than one thousand persons from France have gone out of country to join Daesh. He said that this trend does not mean that the Daesh has strengthened in these countries.

Earlier, Secretary Home Azam Suleman and DIG Operations Dr. Haider Ashraf apprised the participants about the steps taken for security of media houses. He told that law enforcement agencies pay regular visits to media houses. He said that police officer of SP rank has been deputed as focal person for contacting media houses. He said that modern weapons, training and license will be provided to the guards appointed at vantage point. Later, the participants presented their proposals for better security of media houses and pinpointed some flaws upon which the Law Minister directed concerned authorities to take immediate action.
