Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education visit to General Hospital Lahore

Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Najam Ahmad ShahLahore: Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education, Najam Ahmed Shah paid a surprise visit to General Hospital Lahore, today. Besides inquiring from the patients and their attendants about treatment facilities in the emergency and indoor, he reviewed security system and different ongoing development work of the hospital. He appreciated the steps taken by Principal PGMI Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood and his team.

According to details, the Secretary reached General Hospital without any prior information and initially reviewed “Parchi” system for admission of patients in to hospital. He asked from the patients and their attendants about treatment facilities in emergency. He also visited Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences Phase-III.

Principal Prof. Khalid Mehmood informed Secretary Health that at present, 40-beds, two operation theaters and ICU are functional at ground floor while its second phase will also be functional within next two months. He said that 60 more beds will be included in this phase.YDA delegat

The Principal told the funds provided by Punjab government are being timely spent that is why development projects of the hospital are in the final stages of completion. He said that an amount of 386 million more rupees has been demanded from Punjab government so that MRI and digital x-ray could also be timely installed at Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences.

Later, Najam Ahmed Shah visited other sections and reviewed security system especially close circuit cameras and their working, recording and parking matters of the hospital.

Medical Superintendent Lahore General Hospital Dr. Niaz Ahmed was also present on the occasion.
