Shahbaz Sharif reviews the progress of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute projectLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting, here today, which reviewed the progress of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute project.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the project of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute is the first and unique project of the country which will result in modern treatment facilities to kidney and liver patients. He said that this project is also a milestone with regard to development of health sector and provision of modern treatment facilities.

He said that Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute will be a masterpiece with regard to medical science, clinical research and provision of treatment facilities. He said that this project will be state-of-the-art and at par with the institutions of the highest standard of the world. Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute will not only be for the people of Punjab but for the patients from the whole country.

The Chief Minister expressed displeasure over delay in some matters relating to the project and reprimanded the concerned authorities. He said that delay in the implementation of this project of national importance will not be tolerated and work should be carried out on the project with a national spirit and sense of responsibility. He directed that the project should be implemented in a professional manner.

Advisor on Health Kh. Salman Rafique, Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal, Chairman Planning & Development, secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education, Director General Lahore Development Authority, President Board of Governors of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute Dr. Saeed Akhtar and concerned officials attended the meeting.
