Lahore: Punjab Board of Technical Education Lahore is bracing to meet new challenges in technical and vocational training which is embracing competency based training and assessment to produce qualitative skilled workforce .
The Chairperson PBTE Saima Javaid was delivering speech at the concluding session of a workshop held by the Board in collaboration with Punjab Skill Development Fund for new Training Service Providers about examination system as well as Marking and Evaluation system for PSDF examinations which was conducted by Riaz Ali shah and Muhammad Zahid Resource Persons.
She elaborated that competency based assessment system emphasis on building up of competency in skills and in Evaluation system on Assessor judge’s skills of assessee as competent (C) or not yet competent (NYC). She further informed that PSDF is sponsoring training programs of three months, six months and one year for different trades.
The number of trades were increasing to over 135 and number of trainees increased to 15000.
The certificates were awarded to the participants of workshop which was attended by Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema secretary, Muhammad Suleman Deputy secretary of the Board Besides Aftab Ahmad Manager Technical attended the workshop on behalf of the PSDF.
