Special Education Department allocated funds for development projects:Asif Saeed Manhais

Rana MashhoodLahore: Provincial Minister for Special Education, Asif Saeed Manhais has said that Special Education Department allocated funds of Rs. 413.186 million for restoration of development projects, up-gradation and construction of educational institutions in different districts, out of which, Rs. 296.324 million have been utilized on the completion of different projects.

He stated this during a high level meeting of the department, today. Secretary Special Education Ambreen Raza, Director Special Education Faazil Cheema and DOs of Special Education of different districts of the province were present on the occasion. During a briefing, the Minister was informed that Rs. 100.260 million were released for Bahawalpur, Rs. 25 million for Lahore, Rs. 3.6 million for Rawalpindi, Rs. 20.545 million for Sargodha, eight million rupees for Faisalabad, Rs. 18.8 million for Multan, Rs. 20 million for DG Khan, Rs. 50 million for construction of teachers’ training institute of Special Education with the cooperation of Pak Fazaia and five million rupees for construction of speech therapy unit Johar Town, out of which, Rs. 133.119 million have been spent.

The Minister issued instructions to DOs of all districts to process tenders of all projects till February 15. He said that no compromise would be made on the quality in the construction of projects. He said that work should be started immediately for addressing the difficulties being faced in the development projects of Special Education Department. He further said that DOs will be responsible for ongoing development projects in their respective districts and no negligence or faults will be tolerated in the timely completion of these projects.
