Speaker Khyber P. Assembly Asad Qaiser calls on Senator Sirajul Haq

Lahore: A high level delegation of the Khyber P. led by the Speaker of the provincial Assembly Asad Qaiser, called on the Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, in Islamabad and apprised him of their reservations regarding the western route of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Speaking on the occasion, Sirajul Haq said that the government was drifting away from the decisions already taken concerning the western route of the project and not honouring its assurances.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Saharif was the Prime Minister of the entire country and not of any province, therefore, the attitude of giving benefit of the CPEC project to any one province and denying it to the other provinces was unfortunate. He said this approach would add to the sense of deprivations among provinces. Hence, he said, the federation should extend equal facilities to all the provinces.

In reply to a question, Sirajul Haq said it was unfortunate that the project inaugurated by the Premier during his recent to visit to Balochistan as a part of the CPEC western route had later been found to be an old project of the NHA.

He said the CPEC was a national project spread over from Kashghar to Gowadar.  Therefore, the government should link the smaller provinces with it as also the Punjab.

Speaker, Khyber P. Assembly, Asad Qaiser, on the occasion said that the CPEC was a national project and the people of Khyber P wanted that the Prime Minister should ensure that all the provinces were equally benefitted under it and there was no sense of deprivation anywhere.
