Vladimir Putin will attend a session of the Collective Security Council

Vladimir PutinMoscow: On December 21 in Moscow, Vladimir Putin will attend a session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation and a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the highest level.

The CSTO summit will be attended by presidents of the Russian Federation, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Tajikistan. The event participants are scheduled to discuss the key issues of strengthening regional security and stability, and effective efforts against international terrorism.

The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting, with the participation by heads of state of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, will sum up the first year of the Eurasian Economic Union’s operation and identify guidelines for the further development of the integration association. The discussion will also focus on developing the regulatory framework and strengthening cooperation with other countries and integration associations. A number of organisational matters will also be considered, including approving the new composition of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Board and the Union’s budget for the next fiscal year.

By tradition, Vladimir Putin will hold bilateral meetings with his colleagues on the summits’ sidelines.
