Wildlife Department allows the hunting of Partridge and See See

PartridgesLahore: Director General Wildlife Khalid Ayaz has said that the ban of hunting Partridge and See See has been lifted for two months from today. He said that hunters can hunt up to January 31, 2016. He said that hunters can hunt in 31 tehsils of the province.

He disclosed this while talking to mediamen who met in here today. Khalid Ayaz said that the special care has been taken while granting permission of hunting wildlife that the hunters should not hunt all wildlife so that their breeding should be continued.

He said that 31 tehsils where hunting of Partridge and See See was granted included Hassan Abdal and Pindi Ghaip, Kalar Syedan and Texila, Tula King, Pind Dadan Khan and Sohawah, Kot Moman and Bhalwal, Bhakkar, Khoshab, Mianwali, Gujrat and Kharian, Phaliya, Gujranwala and Wazirabad, Hafizabad, Pasroor and Daska, Zafarwal, Muridke and Sharakpur, Nankana Sahib, Chonian and Pattoki, Depalpur, Chak Ghomra and Samundari, Toba Tek Singh and Gojra, Ahmed Por Sayal, Bhwana, Chicha Watni, Pakpatan, Kabirwala, Melsi, Khoro Pakka, Shujaabad, Layyah, Muzafar Garh and Gattoi and Kot Chitta.

Khalid Ayaz said that hunting of all kinds will be prohibited in national parks and the places declared safe by Wildlife Department. However, hunting will be allowed in game reserves on permission letter issued by the office. He said  according to Schedule I of Amendment Act 2007, the bag limit of Partridge and See See will be six. He said that strict action will be taken against those using automatic weapon, repeater guns and jeep for hunting.
