Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presides over a high level meeting at Model Town

CM Punjab CM Punjab-2Lahore: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting at Model Town, here today, which was also participated by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government is working round the clock for the welfare of the masses. He said that national resources are a trust of the nation and every penny of public money is being spent only on the progress and prosperity of the people.

He said that funds are being provided on priority basis for the provision of basic amenities to the citizens. He said that a number of programmes are being implemented expeditiously in Punjab as well as the whole country for facilitating the people.

He said that besides completion of mega projects with transparency and speed, the government is also trying resolve the basic problems of the people.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N government is utilizing national resources with honesty and transparency on the uplift and betterment of the people. He said that some elements tried to stop implementation of Kissan Package but they have been rejected by the people in local bodies’ elections. He said that the government attaches high importance to the welfare of the farming community and is providing relief to the cultivators through the historic Kissan Package.

The Prime Minister further said that relief work for the flood affected people was started without wasting any time and he is personally supervising the process of provision of assistance to the calamity-hit people. He said that Greater Iqbal Project is of historic importance and this element should be highlighted in the construction work while due attention should be paid to the provision of maximum recreational facilities to the citizens.

Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that elected representatives should pay maximum attention to the solution of the problems of the people of their respective areas. He said that no effort should be spared for the provision of education and health facilities, potable water, infrastructure development and solution of other basic issues. He said that the project of supply of potable water should be implemented speedily.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that people have expressed their complete confidence in the leadership of PML-N in the first and second phase of local bodies’ elections. He said that the results of LB polls have authenticated the results of general elections of 2013.

He said that the journey of progress and prosperity of the masses will continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and greater efforts will be made for the solution of public problems. He said that Punjab government is implementing a balanced policy for the development of urban and rural areas.

He said that Kissan Package is being speedily implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister and provision of relief to the cultivators has been ensured. He said that in the first phase of Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme, construction and rehabilitation work of more than 2000 km long roads has been completed and now in the second phase of this project, work is in progress expeditiously at a cost of billions of rupees.

Similarly, he said, the project of supply of potable water to the rural population has been started from South Punjab and will be completed by the end of 2017. He said that the government will come up to confidence expressed by the masses in Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and PML-N at any cost.

Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Parliamentary Secretary on Health Kh. Imran Nazir, Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal, Secretary Local Government, Secretary Communication & Works, Secretary Housing, Commissioner Lahore Division, Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board and concerned officers attended the meeting.
