No need to play cricket with India in India: Pervaiz Rasheed

Senator Pervaiz RasheedLahore: Federal minister for information & broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rasheed has said that Pakistan does not to play cricket with India in India as there is rising a wave of extremism in PM Modi regime that has disturbed people from all walks of life.

Addressing the mediamen here at Lahore press club,on the invitation of president press gallery committee Kh Naseer Ahmad, the federal minister said the world is watching ,how extremism is being promoted by the BJP government,as the conditions do not support cricket so Pakistan should not go for cricket in India ,he maintained.

Pervaiz Rasheed said ISPR press release issue has become a matter of the past, the media should not try to generate news in the state institutions and must avoid to portray a clash among them. The Army Chief is visiting other countries in the light of the government policy,he has  one complete year to reach the age of superannuation,so the question about his extension is too early,Pervaiz Rasheed replied on different questions.

Today’s Pakistan was far safer and peaceful than that of 2013 because political harmony and maturity helped take better decisions (in national interest), he added.

Replying to a question, the minister said the ruling Indian party had been rightly punished by the masses for its intolerance and narrow-mindedness as Prime Minister Modi was booed by Indian
crowds during his all foreign visits.

About the PTI, Pervaiz Rashid said rigging allegations by the party leadership had died their natural death though its leadership was least willing to abandon the tendency. Similar result patterns in the recently held by-elections, Judicial Commission’s verdict and the Local Government (LG) polls had proved beyond any doubt that the general election 2013 were fair and transparent.

The PTI, he said, had been left no option but to give up its rigging mantra. The politics of allegations had adversely affected the PTI’s popularity, he added.

To a query about Karachi, the minister said the operation in the mega city would continue at all costs till the elimination of last criminal as assured by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. “No one would be allowed to use politics as a shield against crime.”

Condemning the attack against a private TV channel in Faisalabad, he said the culprits would be apprehended and brought to justice. The  government, he added, would take steps for the security of other institutions as well.

The minister said the attackers of the national security institutions
and the media houses represented the same mindset. The fourth pillar of state would be defended and supported by the government.

He announced a trip for the journalist of parliament house Islamabad.
