PTI demands Army deployment during the second phase of the LG electionsLahore: Organizer PTI Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar has demanded Army deployment during the second phase of the LG elections in the province.

In a letter to ECP,Ch Sarwar said that reference to the law and order situation witnessed in the Phase one of the Local Bodies Elections in Punjab and particularly in view of the killings of at least 11 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers by the Opponents (The ruling Party) and ongoing threats and harassments by the Police official and administration to the candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf at different levels and the recent violent experiences during the Local Bodies elections, this is to request that all the Polling Stations within the province may kindly be declared as “sensitive” and Rangers/Military may kindly be ordered to be deployed at all Polling Stations to avoid the bloodshed.

It is also pertinent to mention here that before the Phase one of the Local Bodies Elections in Punjab, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had also requested the deployment of Rangers / Military but your good office turned down the request which resulted in killing of 11 of our workers as apprehended. Therefore, it is again very humbly requested that this time our request may kindly be considered seriously and be given due response.
