Chief of Naval Staff and Air Chief witness the ongoing exercise “Sea Spark”

CAs and CNS aoboardLahore: Admiral Muhammad Zaka Ullah, Chief of Naval Staff and Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force witnessed the ongoing exercise “Sea Spark”.

Both the Chiefs flew in the Karakorum Eagle-03 AWACS aircraft for a surveillance mission.  After observing the exercise from the air both the chiefs went on board PN ship to witness the ongoing activities at sea.

While interacting with the participating crew, both the Chiefs expressed satisfaction over the professionalism and synergy between Pakistan Navy and PAF. While talking to mission crew CAS emphasize upon the role of AWACS as war winning tool in the operational scheme of PAF.  Exercise Sea Spark has provided an opportunity to validate the joint war fighting concepts. Chief of the Naval Staff while appreciating the professional commitment and joint operations retreated upon the combat potential of AWAC in maritime operational environment as this exercise has given exposure to the Air and Naval crews in near realistic environment.

Karakorum Eagle-03 AWACS can detect aerial as well as surface targets at fairly long ranges regardless of their height. It maintains link with ground command and control centers to provide comprehensive air picture. After an early detection, AWACS can direct own fighter aircraft to intercept and neutralize the emerging threat.
