Child Protection Bureau and Human Safety Commission of Pakistan decides to boost cooperation

Saba Sadiq-Lahore: Child Protection Bureau and Human Safety Commission of Pakistan have decided to cooperate while services will be provided voluntarily to deserving children in judicial and legal matters.

This decision was taken in a meeting of Chairperson Child Protection & Welfare Bureau Punjab Saba Sadiq and Chairman Human Safety Commission of Pakistan Pir Muhammad Ali Gillani. During the meeting, cooperation by government and private institutions in resolving problems faced by the children was discussed in detail.

Saba Sadiq said that present government under the leadership of Khadim-e-Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is determined to ensure protection of human rights of all segments of the society. She said that steps are being taken especially for children and women in this regard.

She said that proposals have been given for amendment in the laws for protection of children against sexual harassment and on the direction of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, institutions are being set up on the pattern of Child Protection Bureau at district level. Construction of bureaus is continuing in Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur in south Punjab. She lauded the cooperation of Human Safety Commission to Child Welfare Bureau.

Chairman Human Safety Commission of Pakistan Pir Muhammad Ali Gillani told that at present one crore 20 lakh children are victim of child labour and non-governmental organizations should come forward to make them useful citizens of the society. He said that there is room for improvement in the institutions working under the patronage of government and Human Safety Commission will provide free legal aid of every kind.

Director General Bureau Fatima Sheikh during a briefing informed that majority of children comes from railway station and bus stands while after necessary legal procedure, Child Protection Bureau provides them accommodation and education.

On this occasion, Saba Sadiq presented a shield to Pir Muhammad Ali Gillani on behalf of the institution.

    My younger named mahtab ALI who was severely punished by his teacher during school time.. We have made a genuine report to police in written form on Tuesday and the concerened district education officer in this respect but no one is helping us. Political pressure is being made on us for resolving the matter. My brother is not going to school since the day of issue..he is very terrified and not ready to go to any school
    We belong to poor family plzz help us immediately
