It is our national duty to help earthquake effected people: Prof. Khalid Mehmood

Prof. Khalid MehmoodLahore: Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof. Khalid Mehmood has said that it is our national duty to help earthquake effected people. On directions of Chief Minister Punjab, medical team of General Hospital is working day and night to serve those who were affected by earthquake in KPK. The medical team will remain in KPK till accomplishment of mission. He said that a new Mammography machine has been installed at LGH and deserving patients suffering from breast cancer would be given facility of free testing.

He expressed these views during inaugural function of the new Mammography Machine and distribution of certificates among doctors of department of Psychiatry.  The event was attended by Prof. Altaf Qadir, MS Dr. Niaz Ahmed, Chief Radiologist Dr. Tanveer Zubairy and a large numbers of doctors.

Prof. Khalid Mehmood said that a comprehensive mechanism has been evolved to ensure high standard medical facilities to patients coming in Emergency ward and Out-door patients department. Facilities have also been provided to attendants of patients, he added.

Principal PGMI further said that standard of research is being improved in all the departments of PGMI. He stressed upon the senior professors to guide and inspire their juniors and evolve a roadmap in theory as well as practical towards leading them. He said that medical team has also carried a large stock of medicine with them to KPK and more can be provided in need.
