Dr. Ayesha announces the names of the winners of apni gari apna kaam

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Finance Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha while addressing the participants of the function of third balloting under Chief Minister’s Punjab Self-Employment Scheme “apni gari apna kaam” said that this scheme introduced with the collaboration of Punjab government and Bank of Punjab is highly transparent as the balloting is being made through figures entered in the computer before them.  She said that the number of people benefitted from this scheme was 35 thousand as a result of first and second balloting and now this number will further increase.

Announcing the names of winners of balloting, Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha told that most of the youth winning this balloting belong to South Punjab which is proof of this fact that Punjab government did not ignore any part of Punjab province in this scheme. She said that women have also been given equal representation to men in this scheme as the discrimination of male and female has ended. She said that women are also earning livelihood for their families like men. The Finance Minister said that youth are asset of the country and unemployment is creating disappointment among them as a result of which the crime ratio has increased. She said that the crime ratio will also reduce in the society through success of such schemes.

Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha congratulated all youth winning balloting on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab and Finance Department and prayed for their success in business. She also thanked Bank of Punjab and Transport Department for making this scheme a success. Group Head Bank of Punjab Taimur Afzal appreciating the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab said that 99 percent recovery to Bank of Punjab is the biggest proof of the success of “apni gari apna kaam” scheme.

Earlier, representatives of World Bank also met Provincial Finance Minister for consultation about reforms in tax policies. Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha told that a fiscal monitoring committee has been constituted for increasing development budget and ensuring recovery of taxes which comprises Secretary Finance, Secretary Planning & Development, AG Punjab and Additional Finance Secretary as permanent members. The committee will thoroughly review budget of various departments and make efforts in creating balance in expenses and receipts. Representatives of World Bank appreciated this process of Punjab government and also offered assistance for trained persons.
