Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal presides over anti-dengue review meeting

Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat GondalLahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal presiding anti-dengue review meeting and analyzing prevailing situation directed to immediately start fogging in most dengue effected union councils of Rawalpindi twice a day and also asked to test the samples of chemicals being used for the purpose to check their efficacy. He also asked for third party validation of IRS carried out in specific areas which had been worst effected of dengue attack.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Rawalpindi Mr. Zahid Saeed, Provincial Secretaries, officers of administration; heads of government departments, RPO Fakhar Sultan Raja, CPO Israr Abbasi  and officers.

Chief Secretary Punjab said that all efforts would be made to overcome the situation irrupted with constant increase of patients number suffering from dengue fever in Rawalpindi. He said no stone would be left unturned to combat dengue and utilize all available resources and methods to root out the cause of this fetal disease. He directed for distribution of lotion bottles in the most dengue effected union councils to prevent citizens from the attacks of mosquitoes.

Chief Secretary also inquired about the finding of Provincial Agriculture and Local Government Departments regarding third party validation of anti-dengue and said that besides keeping vigil eye on all areas of province, hot spots should focused by re-enforcing dengue control measures. He also examined the data of dengue patients’ case response and examined complaints resolution mechanism.

Khizar Hayat Gondal said that it was expected that the dengue patients would be fell down up to October 15, but the numbers of dengue patients are still constant so it is imperative that appropriate steps should be adopted to tackle the situation. Chief Secretary Punjab also reviewed the number of dengue patient’s cases in Rawalpindi/Islamabad and other areas of Province. He said that it is matter of concern that despite of all efforts, dengue larvae is still being traced during indoor and outdoor surveillance.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary also reviewed the dengue prevalence in Multan and Lahore areas during video link meeting.
