Imran Khan will not become a jailer after failing in politics:Pervaiz Rashid

Minister donating booksLahore: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Friday said Sheikh Rashid’s ‘Geeddher Babhkhi” (browbeating) to send the national leadership to jail was aimed at satisfying PTI chief Imran Khan, who had fascist nature.

The minister, in a statement, said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman and his accomplices were issuing such threatening statements for fearing exposure of their wrongdoings and misdeeds.

He said how could Imran Khan become a jailer as he had already failed to become a political leader. He had initiated his campaign to become the country’s prime minister, but instead he was now aspiring
to become the jailer.

Earlier; Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that learning and improving the sense of understanding is a continuous process for any individual as well as institution. Talking to the office bearers of the National Press Club, Islamabad after donating books and journals to the Club, he said the books serve as a great source of information, education and development of intellect.

The Minister presented some selected books to President National Press Club Shahryar Khan, said a press release.He said whenever you read a good book, somewhere in your mind a door opens to allow in more-light. This enlightenment, leads to progress, change and development.

The Minister said the government believes in freedom of expression and would continue to facilitate media in fulfilling its professional obligations. Appreciating the role of media as a watch dog, he said, democracy and media freedom goes hand in hand. Government not only welcome constructive criticism but also consider media its partner in development of the country and welfare of the people.
It may be mentioned that the Minister had promised to donate books to the National Press Club during the workshop held at NPC, Islamabad in the recent past.

The books were contributed by the Ministry of IB & NH and its research and communication project `Pakistan Peace Collective.’ The event was attended by Secretary, Ministry of IB & NH Muhammad Azam, Chief Executive Officer, Pakistan Peace Collective Ms Bushra Taskeen, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Afzal Butt, Journalists and senior office bearers of the National Press Club.
