CPO Gujranwala issues Showcause notices to 2cops on the report of CFMP

Citizen Feedback Monitoring ProgramLahore : Punjab Government is taking solid measures against corruption, misconduct and red tapism prevailing in its public offices.

The City Police Officer Gujranwala issued show cause notice to two policemen on the reports received through Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program (CFMP) introduced by the Punjab IT Board (PITB) in various departments and offices.

It was stated by the Chairman PITB, Dr. Umar Saif during a meeting on Friday. He told that according to the data received in central dash board of the CFMP, one citizen Mudassir Raza complained that the Muharrir/Head Constable of Police Station Civil Lines Gujranwala Irshad Ahmad did not entered his FIR despite repeated requests. Moreover, Mr. Rashid and Mr. Farhan complained that they approached SHO of PS Sabzi Mandi Mehmood Ahmad but he refused to enter their complaint under rules.

The City Police Officer of Gujranwala Muhammad Waqas Nazeer, issued show cause notices to both police men on the basis of negative feedback received through this program. Dr. Saif further said that the Chief Minister of Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inquires from citizens visiting various government offices including Police Stations and they were asked to pay a bribe or were mistreated by a government official. On any complaint, the authorities take prompt action against the offenders. He said that the CFMP working in all districts, was an effective project that had enabled the common citizens to lodge their complaints directly to the high ups and got redress speedily.
